General Tips to Buy Beyond China
If an item is listed as being “Imported”, this nearly always means it was made in China and the company is trying to hide it. If you want to be sure, email the company and ask where the item is produced.
Take just a second to check the tags on items. If the item you were looking at was made in China, you can almost always find a similar item, often on the same shelf.
Look at different products within same brand. Often you will find that within the same brand one sweatshirt or coffee maker will be made in China and one will not.
It is easier to find some products made in different countries. For instance, clothes and shoes are relatively easy to find as many are made in Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh, etc. However stainless steel products can be very difficult to find when not made in China (though India tends to produce many stainless steel items). As you start to look to Buy Beyond China, you can focus first on the items that are easy to find.
